If this option is not set, the geometry is defined by horizontal and vertical lines only. Then it is sufficient to enter one coordinate only per geometry line, the second will be set automatically.
If the option is activated, all values for the geometry coordinates have to be defined, but a general polygon is permitted as geometry. A meshing algorithm is used then, that will lead to less elements than with horizontal and vertical lines only.
