# Oil density

The oil density is used for the calculation of dynamic viscosity. If a lubricant from the list is selected, the density is modified according to the oil temperature according to [Niemann](bibliography.md#niemann_winter_bd1_2005). If ‘own input’ is selected, the input value is directly used for the calculation.
