# Calculate Ca according to ISO 3408-5

If this option is set, the dynamic load capacity is calculated using the exponent 0.86 in equation 8 of [ISO 3408-5](bibliography.md#iso_3408-5). If the option is not set, the exponent 0.7 is used as in [ISO 281](bibliography.md#iso_281), [ISO/TR 1281-1](bibliography.md#iso_tr_1281-1) or [Lundberg](bibliography.md#lundberg_palmgren_1947).

The dynamic load capacity is calculated according

$C_a = f_c\cdot(i\cdot\cos\alpha)^0.86 \cdot \tan\alpha \cdot z_l^{2/3}\cdot D_w^{1.8}\cdot(\cos\alpha)^1.3$

with either an exponent 0.86 or an exponent of 0.7.
